While the Indiana Fever failed to contend for the WNBA championship in the 2026 season, it was still a memorable campaign for star forward Aliyah Boston.
Boston showed tremendous growth in her fourth WNBA season, particularly in her offensive game. After never averaging more than one 3-point attempt per contest in her first three years, she increased that number to an average of 2.7 attempts per outing. She finished the season averaging a career-high 1.1 triples for a 40.6% shooting clip.
The 24-year-old’s improved shooting helped the Fever become the most potent offense in the WNBA, alongside the contributions of Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark.
Boston ended the campaign as Indiana’s third-best scorer with 16.1 points, all while also recording 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.2 blocks.
Following the Fever’s playoff exit, Boston refused to focus on the disappointing turn of events and instead expressed her gratitude for everything she had done and accomplished with the team.
“year 4 [check],” Boston wrote in a post on Instagram, which also featured several photos of herself and her teammates taken during the season. “in all things I give thanks!”
Lexie Hull, for her part, absolutely loved Boston’s post and commented on it with a sweet but funny message.
“and to think she’s an even better dog mom than basketball player is crazy,” Hull wrote, referencing Boston’s pet dachshund named Ozzy.
She added, “proud of you always.”
Hull’s message highlights Boston’s incredible personality off the court, in addition to her excellence as a basketball player.
For what it’s worth, several other Fever players showed their support for Boston in the comments on her post, including Clark and Mitchell.
Clark shared how “proud” she was of Boston, while Mitchell showed her plenty of love.
