When the Indiana Fever tied their semifinal series against the Las Vegas Aces with a hard-fought 90-83 win, the spotlight fell on star forward Aliyah Boston. And no one captured her importance better than teammate Lexie Hull, who made her opinion crystal clear.

In an interview shared on the Fever’s official Instagram account, Hull spoke directly about Boston’s impact.

“I mean, she’s a force in the paint, and we wouldn’t have won last night’s game, any of our games without her,” Hull said. “ So I’m proud of her ability to be consistent and continuing to impact the game not only offensively, but her ability to impact A’ja [Wilson]’s game defensively has been huge for us.”

Hull’s comments summed up what fans, coaches and even opponents have witnessed all postseason: Boston’s rise as one of the WNBA’s most dominant two-way players.

Aliyah Boston’s Semifinal Brilliance

Boston powered the Fever in Game 4 with 24 points, 14 rebounds and five assists, putting on a clinic in the paint against A’ja Wilson, the reigning league MVP. Her presence allowed the Fever to outrebound the Aces 34-22, one of the deciding factors in the victory.

She was not alone in the effort. Kelsey Mitchell chipped in 23 points, while veteran Odyssey Sims added 18. But Boston’s steady hand in the middle gave the Fever their backbone, a fact Hull wanted to make sure no one overlooked.

The semifinals have been a back-and-forth battle, with the Fever winning the opener on the road before the Aces stormed back to take Games 2 and 3. Sunday’s win forced a decisive Game 5 in Las Vegas, where the winner will advance to face the Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA Finals.

Hull’s praise stands out not just because of the numbers Boston has posted, but because of the credibility Hull herself brings to the floor. Despite dealing with a back injury, Hull has played every game of the postseason and become a cornerstone of Indiana’s defensive identity.

She recorded a double-double earlier in the series and has averaged double figures in scoring while shooting effectively from beyond the arc.

Fever’s Road Ahead

The Fever’s playoff run has already been one of the league’s biggest surprises. After upsetting the Atlanta Dream in the first round, they’ve pushed the defending champion Aces to the brink. Now, with one win separating them from their first Finals appearance since 2015, the Fever are leaning on their chemistry and resilience.

Boston, a three-time All-Star at just 23, continues to prove she belongs among the league’s elite. Meanwhile, Hull, who has often been the glue piece through Indiana’s many injuries, made it clear that Boston is the player who holds everything together. As she put it, the team would not be in this position without their All-Star forward’s consistency.

The Fever will now travel to Las Vegas for Tuesday’s decisive Game 5 at Michelob ULTRA Arena. It’s a do-or-die matchup, with Indiana’s young core looking to complete a breakthrough run against the league’s defending champions.

Win or lose, Hull’s statement leaves no doubt about the future of the franchise. With Boston anchoring the paint and teammates like Hull setting the tone with effort and defense, the Fever have built a foundation that could make them contenders for years to come.
