Maddy Siegrist Downgraded to Out Against Las Vegas Aces: Full Dallas Wings Injury Updates

The Dallas Wings will face the Las Vegas Aces severely short-handed Friday night after Maddy Siegrist was downgraded to out, leaving Dallas with just eight available players.

Siegrist (right knee) was added to the injury report following the Wings’ morning shootaround at Michelob ULTRA Arena and will miss Friday’s Commissioner’s Cup game against the Aces. DallasHoopsJournal.com can confirm that Siegrist fully practiced on Thursday — even staying afterward to get extra shots up — and participated in Friday’s shootaround. However, she was wearing a black sleeve over her right leg during both sessions, and the team downgraded her to out following shootaround.

Siegrist has averaged 9.4 points and 5.2 rebounds in 24.0 minutes per game this season. She played 15 minutes in Wednesday’s 93-80 loss to the Phoenix Mercury, contributing three points and three rebounds. Also, she did not wear the leg sleeve in her previous performance.

Meanwhile, both DiJonai Carrington (left shoulder) and Myisha Hines-Allen (right knee) were upgraded to available after participating in shootaround and will suit up against Las Vegas. A source told DallasHoopsJournal.com that Hines-Allen was a partial participant in Thursday’s practice in Las Vegas, while Carrington fully practiced.

Carrington had been listed as probable but is expected to play through her shoulder injury for a second straight game. She posted 11 points, a team-high eight rebounds, and four assists against the Mercury, and is averaging 12.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.2 steals in 26.9 minutes per game.

Hines-Allen, who had been listed as questionable, has continued to play a starting role for the Wings. She enters Friday’s game averaging 6.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in 20.5 minutes per game.

The Wings remain without Tyasha Harris (left knee surgery) and Teaira McCowan (national team obligation). McCowan is competing for Turkey in the FIBA Women’s EuroBasket and is expected to rejoin the team in early July.

Dallas (1-10) will lean heavily again on rookie point guard Paige Bueckers, who returned from a four-game absence to score a career-high 35 points Wednesday in Phoenix. The Wings, now down to eight available players, face a tall task against the defending champion Aces (4-4). Las Vegas is coming off a 97-89 loss to the Los Angeles Sparks in which Jackie Young poured in 34 points.
