Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever have been one of the more inconsistent teams in the 2025 WNBA season so far, kicking off with a 6-7 record.
On Sunday, the Fever lost a second-straight game to start their West Coast road trip, falling to A'ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces 89-81.
Clark continued to struggle with her shot against the Aces, scoring 19 points on 7-of-20 shooting and 1-of-10 from distance. She also added 10 assists, three rebounds and eight turnovers. Wilson, on the other hand, put up 24 points, seven rebounds and two assists.
Despite the Fever's struggles, all eyes remain on Clark, driving a high viewership rating once again.
On Tuesday, ESPN announced that the Fever vs. Aces game averaged 1.7 million viewers and peaked at 2.2 million, making it the third-most watched WNBA game on ESPN ever.
Compared to the 2024 season, the number is up 52% from last year’s ESPN regular-season average. Even “WNBA Countdown,” ESPN’s pregame show, drew 443,000 viewers, a 33% increase from last year’s average on the network.
The most-watched WNBA game on ESPN belongs to the Fever's 2025 season opener against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky on May 17, which drew an average of 2.7 million viewers. However, that doesn't compare to the WNBA record of 5.04 million average viewers, which belongs to the inaugural game in 1997 between the New York Liberty and Los Angeles Sparks.
