Mercury Star Adds to WNBA History With Another Triple-Double

The Phoenix Mercury star Alyssa Thomas recorded another triple-double in the 2025 WNBA season on Sunday. Thomas' triple-double added to the league's history as the Mercury defeated the Chicago Sky.

Alyssa Thomas has been a force for the Phoenix Mercury. In just her first year with the team, she has been a significant force in all aspects. Fans witnessed how smart and skilled a player Thomas is on Sunday, as the Mercury held an 83-67 victory against the Chicago Sky.

The six-time All-Star recorded her second triple-double of the season with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Thomas also had two steals to add to her outstanding performance.

Alyssa Thomas Added to the WNBA History of Triple-Doubles

Playing a game and finishing with a triple-double is never simple. However, Thomas added her 17th triple-double and has become accustomed to dropping everything. Overall, the league has 48 triple-doubles.

"Alyssa Thomas finished with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for her second triple-double of the year," a post on X read. "There have been 48 triple-doubles in WNBA history, Thomas now has 17 of them (13 of hers have come in the regular season)."

Thomas is arguably having the best season of her career in Phoenix. With averages of 16.2 points, 8.4 rebounds and 9.0 assists, she has had a significant impact on the squad.

In her entire career, Thomas has always played the same way. However, in her first year with the Mercury, she has shown how much she's gotten better over the years. It's also proof that she's developed productive chemistry with her teammates.
