INDIANAPOLIS — Alyssa Thomas represented the Phoenix Mercury during the WNBA All-Star Game on Saturday night, while also advocating for improved conditions across the league.
Supporting Change
Throughout the weekend, the players have advocated for changes in the WNBA. One of the more prominent issues is how little players in the league make, which is lower than what their male counterparts make in the NBA. CBA meetings were held on Thursday to discuss some of these issues with Commissioner Cathy Engelbert.

In a video by PHNX Mercury during media day on Friday, Thomas joked about how money would be everyone’s answer if they were to change one thing in the league.
“There’s so many things we need to change,” the All-Star said afterwards. “I think it’s just exciting that a lot of things are changing since I’ve been in the league and hopefully it continues to get better.”
Having Fun
While the All-Stars continued to voice their hopes for change, they had a chance to have some fun among themselves and with fans during the All-Star game. Thomas, who was on Team Collier, had six points, four rebounds and four assists.
Team Collier took the win against Team Clark, 151-131, in the friendly competition.
