The Minnesota Lynx continued their three-game homestand vs. the Connecticut Sun on Friday night. The Lynx defeated the Sun 76-70 at the Target Center to remain undefeated, while protecting their home court. Minnesota improved to 4-0, while Connecticut fell to 0-3.

The Minnesota Lynx’s starting lineup featured Bridget Carleton, Napheesa Collier, Alanna Smith, Karlie Samuelson, and Courtney Williams. The Connecticut Sun’s starting lineup featured Olivia Nelson-Ododa, Lindsay Allen, Marina Mabrey, Tina Charles, and Saniya Rivers.The first quarter saw the Sun’s fast start.

The Sun led 11-4 with 4:48 left in the first quarter. The Lynx went on a tear to make it a one-point game, 16-15, with 48 seconds left in the first quarter. The Sun settled for a 19-15 lead after the first quarter. The second quarter witnessed fast starts from both teams. Napheesa Collier used her speed to keep the game close, but fell short because of the Sun’s hot shooting. The Sun took a 45-35 lead into halftime.

The third quarter shifted in favor of the Lynx. The Lynx outscored the Sun 14-11 in the third quarter. The Lynx took a 49-45 lead after three quarters. The fourth quarter turned in the Sun’s favor. The Lynx’s shooting went cold, but they picked up the pace. The Lynx made it a two-point game, 68-66, with 1:54 left in the fourth quarter. The Lynx took a 71-68 lead just 50 seconds later. The Lynx won 76-70 in regulation.

Lynx vs. Sun Injury Reports

The Minnesota Lynx ruled out Kayla McBride with personal reasons and listed Alanna Smith with a quadriceps injury and Marieme Badiane with a back injury as day-to-day. The Connecticut Sun ruled out Leila Lacan with a temporary suspension over overseas obligations and Aneesah Morrow with a mid-foot sprain.

The Minnesota Lynx will conclude their three-game homestand vs. the Seattle Storm on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. Central. The Lynx vs. Storm game will be broadcast on FDSN, CW Seattle, and KOMO 4. The Connecticut Sun will finish their two-game road trip against the Atlanta Dream on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. Eastern. The Sun-Dream game will be broadcast on Peachtree TV and NBCS-BOS.
