The Minnesota Lynx are off to a strong start early in the 2025 WNBA season.

They are currently at 3-0 after beating Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings. They are living up to the expectations of a top contender they were billed as coming into the season.

In ESPN.com's recent Power Rankings, the Lynx climbed ahead of the WNBA champion New York Liberty snagging the No.1 overall spot. Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever are third.

"In victories at Dallas and Los Angeles, Napheesa Collier led the way in scoring with a combined 57 points, Jessica Shepard led in rebounds (18) and Courtney Williams in assists (19)," ESPN.com's Michael Voepel wrote. "It will be no surprise to see that trio leading those categories a lot this season. Shepard's return after missing last season due to prioritization rules adds to the Lynx's depth. Minnesota shot 50.4% over the two games and had 27 assists in each."

Most of the Lynx's success this season can be credited to the dominant play of Collier. So far, Collier has averaged 28.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.3 assists.

She has continued to play at an MVP level, building on her success from last season. She dropped 34 points, four rebounds and four assists on 12-for-21 shooting against the Wings.

The Lynx are getting stellar play from others on the roster. Courtney Williams and Alanna Smith has continued to be reliable rotational players, delivering on both ends of the court with their scoring and defense.
