The Dallas Wings will again be without veteran forward Myisha Hines-Allen when they take on the Golden State Valkyries on Friday night. The team officially ruled her out with a right lower leg injury on Thursday’s game status report ahead of their matchup at Chase Center (9 p.m. CT, ION).

Hines-Allen did not participate in Thursday’s practice at UC San Francisco and was seen wearing a boot on her right leg. While no specific diagnosis or recovery timetable has been disclosed, her absence continues to be a notable one for a Wings frontcourt already missing Maddy Siegrist (right knee) and guard Tyasha Harris (left knee).

There has yet to be a formal update on the severity of Hines-Allen’s injury or when she might be able to resume on-court activity, but the team will closely monitor her status moving forward.

Through 23 games this season, Hines-Allen has averaged 6.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, and a career-best 2.9 assists in 21.3 minutes per game while shooting 46.7% from the field. She’s also added 0.7 steals and 0.5 blocks per game, serving as a steady two-way contributor off the bench and occasionally in the starting lineup. Her combination of size, ball movement, and defensive versatility has helped anchor the Wings through stretches of injury-related rotation shuffling.

The Wings (7–17) are coming off their most complete performance of the season, a dominant 87–63 win over the Seattle Storm on Tuesday. Arike Ogunbowale led the way with 20 points and became the franchise’s all-time leader in made field goals. Paige Bueckers added 14 points and six assists, tying Caitlin Clark as the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 300 points and 100 assists — doing so in just 19 games.

Friday’s matchup will be the Wings’ second and final meeting with the expansion Valkyries (10–12). Dallas won the first matchup 80–71 on June 17, with Ogunbowale and Bueckers combining for 39 points. Hines-Allen contributed six rebounds in that contest, part of a strong month where she was solidifying her role as a steady two-way presence.

With Hines-Allen sidelined, Haley Jones has stepped up in a versatile frontcourt role. In the win over Seattle, Jones delivered 10 points, six rebounds, six assists, two steals, and three blocks in 31 minutes — an all-around performance that helped set the tone on both ends of the floor.

The Wings will look to build on that momentum Friday night in San Francisco. Golden State (10–12) hasn’t played since July 16, when they lost to the Storm 67–58. Dallas previously defeated the Valkyries 80–71 on June 17 in Arlington, with Ogunbowale and Bueckers combining for 39 points.

For now, Hines-Allen’s status remains a key storyline for a Wings team that has battled injuries across the roster all season. Until she returns, Dallas will continue counting on Jones to anchor their frontcourt production.
