Mack, a forward who played in all 40 Phoenix games last year, said the camp is competitive even with roster spots open as a new team. Through the competition, Mack says she’s having fun.
“It’s a learning experience,” she said. “I’m playing with some of the greatest people [and] hall of famers.”
While Mack has only signed a training camp contract, she doesn’t let the pressure get to her. Mack mentions it isn’t the first time she’s been in this position.
“It’s not my first rodeo,” Mack explains. “If [Phoenix] don’t believe [in] me, somebody out there believes in me.”

McConnell, a Duquesne University senior guard, explained to the media how she’s adjusting to training with different players.
“More athleticism,” McConnell said. “More versatility, but I’m ready for the challenge.”
When asked what she feels she’s learned about herself so far in this training camp, McConnell says she’s taking it day by day.
“I’m trying to not look ahead,” said McConnell. “Every day I’m trying to get better as a person, a player and become a better teammate.”
