The New York Liberty are off to a hot start, improving to 2-0 on the season after picking up a 99-74 victory over the Chicago Sky and making WNBA history along the way.
During the win, the Liberty set the WNBA record for most 3-pointers in a single game. New York was red hot, knocking down 19 3s in the contest, building on the four the team drained during in its season opener against the Las Vegas Aces.

The Liberty dominated most of the second quarter against Angel Reese and the Sky, outscoring Chicago 25-9 during that stretch to seize control of the game.
Natasha Cloud led all scorers with 18 points, Kennedy Burke chipping in 17 points off the bench. Both knocked down four 3s, while Jonquel Jones chipped in three, and and Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu and Marine Johannes hit two from deep.
Now at 2-0, the Liberty are looking to remain atop the WNBA landscape; however, Liberty head coach Randy Brondello has emphasized that they still have work to do.
“A lot of areas we can get better at,” Brondello said via the New York Post. “Obviously, I’m going to have joy because we won a game, but we’re nowhere near where we need to be on the defensive end. And definitely, overall, I thought we were solid. But we still had breakdowns there, too.”
