The long-anticipated news of Las Vegas Aces A'ja Wilson finally getting her own Nike shoe came on Saturday morning, right before the Aces were preparing to go against the Puerto Rican national team in a preseason game at South Carolina's Colonial Life Arena.
Despite the 28-year-old center dominating the court and winning the WNBA's Rookie of the Year in 2018, winning its Most Valuable Player Award in 2020 and 2022 and winning a WNBA championship in 2022, it took her years to get her own sneaker line. But in early 2023, Nike finally told her their plans to create a signature shoe for her.
On Thursday, just two days before the Aces will tip off the official WNBA season against the New York Liberty, Nike announced a new A'One shoe in a pearl white color, which is out now.
"The strength A’ja’s grandmother passed on to her through a symbolic gift of pearls inspired the A’One ‘OG Pearl,'" Nike posted on their official X account. "Perfect for those who want to shine brightly, while never being swayed off their path."
Pearls of wisdom.

Just last Thursday, the Aces posted Wilson's new bubblegum pink hair, which was a nod to her first sneaker drop with Nike, the A'One, a bold and bright pink shoe. The sneakers were a huge success and sold out within five minutes, according to multiple news sources.
The A'One "OG Pearl" sneakers can be purchased on Nike's official website for $110. There is also a blue shade of the shoe available in limited sizes for the same price.
The Aces will play against the Liberty on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. EST at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.
