Caitlin Clark has fans worldwide, but her latest supporter is one no one saw coming. The daughter of an opposing coach made her allegiance clear during a recent Team USA game, creating a memorable moment.
It happened during Game 2, when CC took the court for Team USA against Puerto Rico. As she checked into the first quarter, the crowd at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot erupted in applause during the truTV broadcast. Yet the real highlight of the moment came from a young fan in the stands.
And that fan happened to be the daughter of Puerto Rico HC Jerry Batista. As spotted in the clip, she was holding a sign that read: “Coach Batista is my Dad but… I’m here to see Paige and Caitlin,” referring to Paige Bueckers and Clark.

Clark has more than 3.6 million followers on Instagram, while Bueckers has around 3 million.
But what made the sign especially memorable was the situation. Notably, the young fan was cheering for players on the opposing team, even though her father was coaching Puerto Rico. Team USA certainly gave her plenty to cheer about, though!
The team was dominant, building a 27-point lead by halftime. Both CC and PB didn’t disappoint. While Indiana Fever superstar finished with eight points, three rebounds, and two assists in just over 18 minutes, PB added 16 points.
