Dallas is quickly becoming home for Paige Bueckers. Just days before her WNBA debut with the Dallas Wings, the No. 1 overall pick in April’s draft was seated front row on the glass at American Airlines Center for Game 4 of the Dallas Stars’ second-round playoff matchup against the Winnipeg Jets.

KK Arnold, Bueckers’ former UConn teammate and fellow national champion, was with her as they continued their close bond off the court.

The sighting added to a growing theme in Dallas sports this spring: young stars from across leagues supporting each other and being embraced by the city in return.

UConn Championship Teammates Reunited in Dallas

Bueckers and Arnold were key figures in UConn’s dominant 2024–25 campaign, culminating in a national championship victory in April. Bueckers, a redshirt senior and the heart of the Huskies’ offense, returned from injury to lead UConn through a 15-game winning streak by an average of more than 30 points. She averaged 19.9 points, 4.6 assists, 4.4 rebounds, 2.1 steals, and 0.8 blocks across 38 games, anchoring the team on both ends.

Arnold provided key contributions off the bench in her sophomore season, including nine points apiece in the Final Four and title game. Their on-court chemistry, forged through pressure and perseverance, has carried over.

Their presence at Tuesday’s playoff game was the latest public display of their continued friendship—another sign of Bueckers’ steady integration into the Dallas sports scene. Arnold could attend the Wings’ season opener on Friday against the Minnesota Lynx.

Paige Bueckers Settling Into Dallas

Bueckers’ rookie season with the Wings officially tips off on Friday in Arlington, and she’s already becoming a familiar face around town. Her front-row appearance follows that of Dallas Cowboys first-round pick Tyler Booker at Game 3 of the same series, reinforcing a growing connection between the city’s incoming stars and its playoff-caliber teams.

In the case of Bueckers, her excitement for being in Dallas has been clear from the start. She’s spoken publicly about feeling the love and support from fans and is already emerging as a prominent ambassador for the Wings.

“Dallas is a great sports city. You can feel the love and the support already,” Bueckers said. “So just to be a part of this, and there’s a lot of new in this organization. So to be a part of something and build with each other and just create a new sisterhood. We’re really excited… Just investing all of ourselves into Dallas.”

Now, just days before her pro debut, she’s made it known she’s not just playing in Dallas—she’s part of it.

Whether on the court in Arlington or courtside in downtown Dallas, Bueckers continues to prove she’s embracing every part of her new role—and she’s bringing her UConn family along for the ride.
