Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark is no longer the new kid on the block for the upcoming WNBA season. Her time as a rookie is done, and this title now belongs to former UConn superstar Paige Bueckers, who was selected first overall by the Dallas Wings in this year's draft.

The comparisons between Bueckers and Clark have been inevitable--not only heading into the former's debut season in the WNBA, but also throughout their time in college.

Bueckers recently sat down with Joey Mistretta of ClutchPoints for an exclusive interview, and one of the questions she was asked centered around the unending Caitlin Clark comparisons.

This prompted an honest admission from the new Wings star.

"Yeah, I think, running my own race, not running a race in comparison," Bueckers started. "Because in all honesty, I don't think me and Caitlin play at all alike.

"But I understand growing up in the same class, the same generation, both guards… I don't know, but I don't think we play alike."

While there's no denying that both Clark and Bueckers made a significant impact on women's basketball at the college level -- albeit in varying degrees -- Bueckers believes that there really aren't too many similarities to the way they play.

Nevertheless, she is not shying away from the comparisons, as the 23-year-old remains completely confident in her own abilities.

"It's just not worrying about that and like I said, running my own race and staying present every single day," Bueckers continued. "Those comparisons are just media driven, narrative driven. And they're good for the game in terms of getting people to talk about it and it being a talking point. So I'm sure we both have gotten used to it.

Bueckers went on to admit that all this talk was something that got into her head in the past. At this point, however, she's more focused on being the best version of herself she can be.

"I used to think about it and internalize it a little bit more, but now working on myself, working on being present and embracing the people around me and just working on getting better every single day has kind of helped me," Bueckers said.

"… Just like any comparison to anything, any expectations, any pressures, any external things that people think I have to live up to."

The Wings will host the Fever in Dallas on June 27, which will be the first time Bueckers and Clark get to face off on the court at the WNBA level.
