On Tuesday, the Las Vegas Aces sparked confusion after removing their social media posts announcing their collaboration with the civil rights group Anti-Defamation League (ADL), aimed at combating antisemitism and spreading their message during the WNBA’s Commissioner Cup.

The Aces’ now-deleted post expressed their full support for the ADL to back their stance in the WNBA’s ongoing efforts to stop discrimination.

“For this season’s Commissioner’s Cup, we have selected @ADLDeser for its “No Space For Hate’ initiative, which reflects the @WNBA’s values of justice, equity, inclusion, equality, and community empowerment,” the caption read.

The Las Vegas Aces’ social media feeds now primarily feature game schedules and player highlights. As of this writing, the team has not issued an official statement regarding the deleted post.

Despite this, the collaboration may still be in place. The ADL has not removed its announcement of its partnership with the LV Aces.

“We are honored that the Las Vegas Aces have selected ADL Desert and our “No Space For Hate” initiative for this season’s Commissioner’s Cup … Thank you to the Aces and the entire WNBA for showing what it means to help make your community a safe and welcoming place for all,” their Facebook post read.

The ADL, established in 1913, is dedicated to fighting antisemitism and all forms of hate and discrimination. In recent years, it has played a key role in addressing the surge of online antisemitism and Holocaust denial.

Notably, the Las Vegas Aces also previously had a Jewish player, Alysha Clark, who was instrumental in securing the team’s 2023 championship.

A continued partnership with an organization focused on combating antisemitism would align with that legacy.

Las Vegas Aces crown superstar “Queen of the Game”

The Las Vegas Aces secured a 75-70 victory against the Seattle Storm on Sunday, marking their second consecutive win and improving to 4-2 for the season.

Star center A’ja Wilson led the way with 19 points, seven rebounds, and strong defensive stats: three steals and four blocks in 35 minutes.

While not her most dominant offensive showing, Wilson’s performance earned her a place in league history. According to StatMamba, she tied Candace Parker for the second-most WNBA games with at least three steals and three blocks.

Shortly after the game, the Aces honored Wilson on Instagram, naming her “Queen of the Game.”
