The Fever vs. Tempo game was still in balance as the veteran guards from the Toronto team slowly began to make a difference. Brittney Sykes, who achieved an incredible feat in the season, was the real threat, looking at her form, and was also heating up with some mid-range jumpers in the game.

But suddenly the picture turned tragic as the player went down in pain, trying to cut from the right wing as she lost her balance. Cameras clearly showed that it was a non-contact injury. Even though there was not much information in her direct answer about Brittney Sykes’ injury status, her subsequent statements raise concerns, as she mentioned that it’s tough to lose one of the team’s best players, who impacted the game on both ends of the floor. The coach is now thin on backcourt options for the season following an injury to another talented guard.

The 32-year-old guard leads the team in scoring (20.1 points per game) and is second in assists (3.5 per game), steals (1.3 per game), and blocks, underscoring her impact.

Sophie Cunningham Sends Prayers For Brittney Sykes

One player who would relate to foot injury and missing multiple games would be Indiana Fever’s Sophie Cunningham, who played in 30 games for the Fever in the 2025 season before her season-ending injury. She had 24 points in as many minutes in the game against the Tempo, helping the side to record a 113-91 victory against the Tempo team.
