Caitlin Clark just earned another vote of confidence—this time from one of the WNBA’s greatest ever.
Asked who deserves the league’s next signature shoe during an interview with Derryl Barnes Jr., Diana Taurasi didn’t need time to think. Her answer was clear.
“Caitlin, of course,” Taurasi said. “I mean, I know she has some little colorways, but you can do that on Nike ID. I mean the next Caitlin shoe should be the next one, and you know my kids will be wearing it.”
Clark has been at the center of the WNBA spotlight all season. Pegged as the 2024 Rookie of the Year, she’s not just putting up numbers—she’s drawing sold-out crowds and fueling a wave of new fans. Nike is already laying the groundwork for her signature line. According to KicksFinder, her logo is expected to be revealed this holiday season, with her own shoe set to launch sometime next year.
The praise didn’t stop at footwear. At the National Sports Collectors Convention on Saturday, Taurasi shared her admiration for Caitlin Clark and spoke about their budding friendship.
“Me and Caitlin are really good friends. We get along really well. We’ve had some great interactions,” Taurasi said. “I just absolutely love what she does on the court, off the court. When I watch her play, and the way she goes about her business, there’s a seriousness about it that I love.”
The Phoenix Mercury legend also gave Clark credit for what she’s done for the league. Her ability to draw fans, create buzz, and command national attention has been unmatched—something Taurasi clearly respects.
Despite some bumps in her rookie campaign, including a shooting slump and 16 games missed due to injury, Clark has still managed to surpass stars like Alyssa Thomas and Natasha Cloud in assists.
And with an endorsement like this from Taurasi? It’s clear Clark isn’t just having a moment—she’s shaping the future.
