Sophie Cunningham joined the Indiana Fever last year with a lot of hope. Instantly, the 29-year-old became a crowd-favorite. Unfortunately, following her MCL injury, things got a little complicated. In a recent update on Instagram, the former Phoenix Mercury star posted glimpses of her WNBA outing till now. Expressing her confidence and a happy state of mind, the Fever star wrote, “happy to be back in action.”
Now then, while the message might seem like a normal one, for the Missouri native, finding her rhythm again is of utmost importance. Ahead of the season, there were significant uncertainties hovering around the 6-foot-1 star. Thankfully, till now, the 29-year-old has been quite impressive. After the first four games, Cunningham is averaging 9.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists.
Additionally, her latest outing against the Seattle Storm would surely do her a world of good.
Following a tough loss against the Washington Mystics, Stephanie White and co. were under a lot of pressure. Facing off against the Storm, the team was in a must-win situation. Thankfully, as Caitlin Clark had a historic game, Cunningham played the perfect second fiddle. Chiming in with 17 points and three rebounds, it was a five-star performance from the 29-year-old.
