Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark joined Team USA in San Juan, Puerto Rico for the FIBA Women's World Cup Qualifying Tournament. Despite the fact that the competition was her first competitive action in eight months after suffering a groin injury and a bone bruise in the 2025 WNBA season, she still impressed with her performances.

Clark kicked off the qualifiers on a high note, recording a double-double of 17 points and 12 assists in the opener against Senegal. Overall, she had a combined total of 58 points and 32 assists across five games, both of which were team high. The 24-year-old playmaker also had the best efficiency rating among the USA roster at 73.

The Fever guard ended up claiming the tournament's MVP honor, as Team USA went 5-0.

Following the conclusion of the qualifiers, Clark took to Instagram on Wednesday to reflect on her experience and share her appreciation for the opportunity to be part of the national team.

"Fun being back out there," Clark wrote. She added, "Always an honor."

Clark also shared several photos of herself wearing her Team USA jersey and gear, which were taken during the tournament.

Sophie Cunningham, for her part, couldn't help but comment on the post. However, what she noticed was Clark's appearance. Considering that Puerto Rico is in the Caribbean, boasts a tropical climate and has plenty of beaches, Cunningham couldn't believe that Clark seemingly didn't enjoy what it has to offer.

"Still pale even after being PR is crazy," Cunningham wrote about Clark. "But at least you brought home that MVP trophy."

To be fair to Clark, the Team USA players didn't really have enough time to enjoy Puerto Rico. After all, they played five games in seven days, which included two back-to-back series.

Cunningham is probably just trolling Clark, which is a common thing for the two. They often poke fun at each other on social media, and it's likely Cunningham's way to get back at Clark after the Fever All-Star teased her for her offseason photos earlier in the month.
