The Indiana Fever are coming off a big win on Friday night over the Chicago Sky, improving to 22-20 and boosting their chances of clinching a postseason berth with just two regular-season games remaining.
It’s been a season full of adversity for Indiana, largely due to injuries, with the most recent setback being star point guard Caitlin Clark. Clark was officially ruled out for the year this week after missing time since before the All-Star break with a lingering groin injury, despite making an attempt to return.
On Saturday, the Fever acknowledged their injured players by posting a video from their recent picture day featuring Sydney Colson, Chloe Bibby, Sophie Cunningham, Caitlin Clark, and Aari McDonald — all of whom have suffered season-ending injuries.
“Show ’em some love,” the Fever captioned the post.
Shortly after, the post drew a reaction from Cunningham, who retweeted it and wrote, “a sick joke.”

Sophie Cunningham is in her first season with the Fever after spending six years with the Phoenix Mercury. She quickly became a key contributor to Indiana’s success, but her season was cut short after tearing her MCL on Aug. 17 against the Connecticut Sun, when an opposing player fell into her knee.
Coincidentally, the Sun were also the team Caitlin Clark suffered her groin injury against, though Clark’s setback came in July.
Despite all the injuries, the Fever remain just one win — or a Sparks loss — away from clinching a playoff berth for the second straight season.
That would mark another step forward for the franchise and stand as a testament not only to stars like Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston, who both earned All-Star honors this year, but also to head coach Stephanie White and the job she has done keeping the team competitive.
