On Friday night the Indiana Fever was involved in a three-team trade that saw Sophie Cunningham land in the front court with Caitlin Clark.

The No. 2 pick in 2020, Satou Sabally, was traded to the Phoenix Mercury from the Dallas Wings, who received point guard Ty Harris and the rights to Mikiah "Kiki" Herbert Harrigan from Phoenix and NaLyssa Smith from the Fever. Indiana also sent Dallas the eighth pick in this year's draft while receiving Cunningham and the No. 19 pick in the draft.

After taking some time to reflect on the trade, Cunningham took to her Instagram story with a clear message.

"Happy February," she said in the caption of a photo she posted to her Instagram story showing a biblical passage. The passage seemed to carry its own pointed message after she was traded to the Fever on Friday night.

"You will get what your work for," she highlighted from the passage. "You will enjoy the Lord's blessings, and all will go well for you."

During the 2024 regular season, Cunningham averaged 8.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, two assists and one steal per game. Now she'll join forces with the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year and No. 1 overall pick.

The team also signed three-time WNBA champion and former Defensive Player of the Year Natasha Howard to bolster their roster heading into the 2025 season.
