Sophie Cunningham is coming off a memorable first season with the Indiana Fever. After spending the first six years of her career with the Phoenix Mercury, the 6-foot-1 guard joined the Fever ahead of the 2025 season via a multi-team trade.

Cunningham made an immediate impact on the Fever. She emerged as the team’s enforcer and a legitimate threat from beyond the arc. The former Missouri Tigers star also established herself as one of the veteran leaders on the squad.

Cunningham, however, suffered a season-ending knee injury. She was limited to 30 games in 2025, averaging 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.7 triples in 25.2 minutes per contest.

Cunningham has remained busy throughout the WNBA offseason. When she’s not hosting her “Show Me Something” podcast or engaged with her work commitments outside the WNBA, the 29-year-old makes an effort to spend time with her family.

On Friday, the Fever guard was out and about with her sister, Lindsey Cunningham Hudson. While it is unclear what the two sisters were up to, Hudson took to social media to share a video of Cunningham driving with one hand while holding her phone in the other.

Hudson wasn’t exactly pleased with her sister’s driving habits, and she decided to expose Cunningham’s behavior on Instagram.

“1. Riding with Sophie -nerve racking. 2. Driving through construction zones during rush hour – Not ideal. 3. Driving with Sophie, though construction zones during rush hour.. [expletive] awful,” Hudson wrote.

Cunningham was speaking on the phone during the video, and it does not seem like she knew she was being filmed. Nevertheless, the WNBA star decided to share the clip on her own Instagram stories.

It is important to note that multiple states in the U.S. prohibit drivers from using hand-held cell phones while driving.

As for her basketball, Cunningham is now set to negotiate a new deal with the Fever. Her one-year contract is up, and she will need to secure an extension to remain in Indiana now that the new CBA is in place.
