The Indiana Fever fanbase is in a somber mood because of all the injuries amid the team's playoff bid. On Thursday, superstar guard Caitlin Clark was officially ruled out for the rest of the campaign due to her groin issue, joining Chloe Bibby, Sophie Cunningham, Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald on the sidelines with season-ending injuries.
In their home game against the Chicago Sky, the injured players made an appearance to support the team. They even participated in taking pregame photos to show their outfits and overall looks.
What stood out from the pregame moment, however, was the photo of Cunningham, Colson and McDonald together.
In a post by the Fever, they shared a carousel of photos highlighting the pregame looks of the players. In the last slide, Cunningham and Colson can be seen using knee braces and crutches, along with McDonald on her scooter, as they smile together for the camera.
Fans absolutely loved the specific photo and brought some positivity to an otherwise heartbroken fanbase, with one supporter even noting: "The last pic perfectly represents this whole season. I love that the team is still so positive and light hearted through all the of it. Go Fever."
"The team. There’s something here isn’t there? Last pic made me smile," a commenter wrote. Another one said, "Oh my goodness. The crutches and scooters crew."
"The last pic is the greatest," a fan wrote, along with a laughing emoji.
"OMG THOSE 'Tres Amigos' at least they are happy and there supporting their teammates," a social media user stated.
A sixth poster shared, "Nobody in the league has what this team has!"
To make the day even better for the Fever and the Indiana faithful, the team beat the Sky 97-77 to improve its playoff bid. They now need just one more victory to secure a postseason spot.
