The Indiana Fever have been without the services of two key players because of injuries as of late. Caitlin Clark hasn't played since May 24 due to a quadriceps injury, and Sophie Cunningham hasn't played since May 30 because of an ankle injury.

However, head coach Stephanie White provided a critical update on Friday by announcing that, barring any setbacks, both Cunningham and Clark should be available to play on Saturday in the Fever's home game against the New York Liberty.

But with that bit of good news comes some bad news as well. DeWanna Bonner is unlikely to be with the team for the game against the Liberty as she continues to be away from the team for personal reasons.

Despite being without two of their best players for more than two weeks, Indiana has held it together reasonably well, maintaining a 4-5 record. The Fever are tied for seventh in the WNBA standings, and their +5.2 point differential ranks fourth-best in the league.

Cunningham has felt like she's been ready to go since she first sustained her injury and expressed as much to Chloe Peterson of IndyStar.

“I feel like I’ve been ready to go since it happened,” Cunningham said via the IndyStar. “But I’m not a doctor, so it’s up to them.”

The return of Clark and Cunningham couldn't come at a better time, as the Liberty have played like the best team up to this point. They enter Saturday's matchup undefeated at 9-0, and their +19.0 point differential is more than double the next-best team, the Minnesota Lynx.

Clark sustained her quadriceps injury against New York. Upon her injury, White expressed a bit of optimism in the face of losing the team's best player, per reporting from ESPN's Alexa Philippou and Kendra Andrews.

"It's a great opportunity for our team to find an identity, it's a great opportunity for our team play in a different way, and I also think it's a great opportunity for Caitlin to watch the game from the sideline and to grow almost a coaching mind and mindset and see some different things that we may be talking about on film, addressing in practice, to see it develop in live action," White said.

The Fever will host the Liberty on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET.
