The Indiana Fever have experienced a turbulent season, with star guard Caitlin Clark missing several games due to two separate injuries and the team struggling to rise above the .500 mark.

In her 10 appearances, Clark averaged 17.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 8.6 assists, holding a 5-5 record.

Wednesday marked Clark's return from a five-game absence and the Fever's tenth loss, as they fell to the Golden State Valkyries 80-61, shooting just 22.2% from beyond the arc at home.

Clark has struggled to get into a rhythm this season, shooting just 1-28 from the three-point line in away games and averaging a lower point total than her rookie season.

After Thursday's practice, head coach Stephanie White emphasized that her players need to bring a sense of urgency and announced that it's time to learn from their mistakes and build upon them.

"Yeah, I mean certainly you don't want to get too high or too low, but I think, yeah, pissed off, sense of urgency, back against the wall. I think that there has to be a level of desperation in how we play, and I don't mean desperate like panic. I mean desperate like you don't have a margin for error, right? This league is too good. Players are too good. It's as deep as it's ever been," said White. "There's not a lot of margin for error, so a sense of urgency and desperation in how we go about doing the things that we do has to be there."

Indiana now looks ahead to a crucial four-game stretch ahead of the All-Star break, as they aim to string together some wins to climb back above .500.
