There were just two games on the docket for the WNBA on Thursday night. One of them involved the league-best Minnesota Lynx securing a 91-82 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks at Crypto.com Arena in L.A.

WNBA MVP frontrunner Napheesa Collier led the charge for Minnesota in this one, scoring 17 points on 8-of-19 shooting, to go along with eight rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks in 32 minutes of action.

The likes of Natisha Hiedeman (18 points off the bench), Courtney Williams (16 points, seven assists) and Alana Smith (15 points, three triples), among others, also chipped in as the Lynx improved to 18-3 on the season.

It wasn't just an ordinary regular-season win for the Lynx, though, as it marked the 500th victory for the franchise. The WNBA took to social media to congratulate Minnesota on its historic milestone, having become only the third franchise in league history to reach the 500-win mark.

This feat speaks volumes about the Lynx's continued success through the years. This team was first established in 1999, which was two years after the league's inaugural season. Since then, Minnesota has won four championships, and they are now aiming to take home their fifth.

The Lynx are considered one of the favorites to win it all this season, and their current best record in the entire league is a testament to how the pundits have been right about Minnesota's prospects this year and their chances of emerging as the 2025 WNBA champions.
