Chicago Sky star Angel Reese got a defender from New York Liberty point guard Natasha Cloud , in light of a “Jemele Hill insult” one online fan remarked.
In light of the recent controversy that Angel Reese found herself in, former NBA star Etan Thomas got clapped by one fan, comparing him to sports journalist Jemele Hill. This came after his repeated comments on the issue of Angel Reese.
“That’s supposed to be an insult ?” Thomas said in a post where he showed a screenshot of the fan comment.

Cloud went to the comments section to chime in with her own insight.
“They don’t know that’s a compliment,” Cloud wrote in a comment.
Jemele Hill has been a controversial figure in sports media due to her outspoken views on politics, race, and social issues. Hill continues to be a strong voice in journalism, writing for “The Atlantic” and hosting her podcast “Jemele Hill Is Unbothered.”
Angel Reese had a tough night as the Chicago Sky fell to the New York Liberty in a decisive 99-74 loss. The Liberty set a WNBA regular-season record by sinking 19 three-pointers, with Natasha Cloud leading the charge with four deep shots and 18 points. Chicago struggled to keep up, especially in the second quarter, where they were outscored 25-9, allowing New York to build an insurmountable lead. Despite the Sky’s efforts to rally in the third quarter, the Liberty’s offensive firepower proved too much to overcome.
Reese had a difficult game, going 0-for-8 from the field and scoring just two points. This marked the first time since 2021 that she failed to make a single basket in a game, ending a streak of 136 consecutive games where she had scored.
ESPN’s Alexa Philippou noted that with the loss, the Sky set the record for the second-worst game differential a team has set for its two games of the season in WNBA history.
She said on X: “Tough start to 2025 in Chicago: The Sky’s -60 point differential this season is the worst through the first two games of a season in WNBA history. They’ll head back on the road in search of their first win, starting with a meeting Sunday versus L.A.”

Despite the loss, Angel Reese’s presence on the court continues to be a key factor for the Sky as they look to bounce back as the season goes on.
