Caitlin Clark has missed the last two days of practice for the Indiana Fever. After sitting out Saturday’s big win over the Los Angeles Sparks, the 24-year-old continues to be sidelined by a lingering back injury.
Head coach Stephanie White told reporters on Wednesday that Clark is doing individual workouts with the coaching staff. There appears to be some progress in her recovery, but she still isn’t healthy enough to join her team in practice.
At this point, there is no guarantee that Clark will be able to suit up for her team’s next game. This comes in the form of a marquee matchup against the defending champions, the Las Vegas Aces, on Sunday.
Clark was trending on social media on Tuesday night after supposedly being spotted in the stands watching the United States Men’s National Soccer Team (USMNT) take on Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Round of 32 of the FIFA World Cup.
A couple of supposed photos of Clark soaking in the action at San Francisco Bay Area Stadium in Santa Clara made the rounds on X.

As of this writing, the photos have already amassed close to 100,000 views. Most fans were excited to see the Fever superstar supporting the national team.
The post, however, comes from Fever Updates, a known parody account on X. It appears that the photos of Clark are fake, and the rumor that she attended the USMNT match is untrue.
It is unclear whether the photos are AI-generated or merely a Clark lookalike. However, it is highly unlikely that Clark took a five-hour flight from Indianapolis to the Bay Area to catch the game — especially with a back injury. Moreover, the Fever are scheduled to practice again on Thursday. This means it would have required a round trip for the two-time All-Star.
Some fans on X were quick to call out the rumor.
“Def looks like AI,” a comment read.
“That’s not cc,” another claimed.
“Pls stop with the AI crap,” demanded a user.
“That’s not her, similar but not her,” a reaction read.
“This is AI no way yall think that’s true,” said another.
Either way, the USA secured a 2-0 win against Bosnia to punch their ticket to the next round. They will face Belgium in the Round of 16 on Sunday as they look to keep their World Cup dream alive.
