Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese has followed up her strong rookie year with another productive campaign during the 2025 WNBA season. She is currently averaging 12.6 points, a league-best 12.8 rebounds and a career-high 3.9 assists.
As a result, Reese was named a reserve for the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game on Sunday morning. This is her second such honor in two professional seasons, and she is the only Sky player to make the team for the second consecutive year.
During Tuesday evening's All-Star draft, Reese was selected by team captain Napheesa Collier, a Minnesota Lynx forward who is the frontrunner to win this year's MVP award. She was passed on by Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark three times in the draft.
Reese will join a team that features starters like Collier, Breanna Stewart, Allisha Gray, Nneka Ogwumike and Paige Bueckers. Reese will be a reserve alongside Courtney Williams, Skylar Diggins, Kelsey Plum, Alyssa Thomas and Rhyne Howard.
Williams was live streaming on Instagram during the draft, and when Reese was selected to be her teammate, she had a strong response. The clip of her reaction was captured and posted on X.
"Oh, we got Angel! Hell yeah!" Williams said, celebrating. "Aye, every rebound is ours, I know that. Now I can shoot however I want to. I know she gon get them rebounds, I can shoot whatever I want, believe that."

Williams is a 10-year veteran who is making her second All-Star appearance of her career. She is contributing 13.5 points, 5.9 assists and 4.8 rebounds this season for the 17-2 Lynx.
During last year's All-Star game, Reese contributed 12 points and 11 rebounds to help Team WNBA upset Team USA.
The game will be played on July 19 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET.
