Following a 99-84 loss to the Minnesota Lynx in their first game of the WNBA regular season on Friday, the Dallas Wings and Paige Bueckers’ welcomed their team’s newest teammate to her new home on Sunday.

In a video posted on X, the entire team formed a circle at the end of their practice and gave Luisa Geiselsöder a round of applause as she proudly stood at the spot Bueckers directed her towards.

“Oh beautiful,” Geiselsöder said after the applause stopped.

Following a bit of laughter, Wings head coach Chris Koclanes gave his girls praise for having a strong practice.

“Guys, I thought that was a really good day,” Koclanes said. “I appreciate our focus all around."

Geiselsöder reported to practice on Sunday for the first time since signing a contract with the Wings during training camp. She was initially selected by the Wings with the 21st pick in the 2020 WNBA draft but has yet to make her debut in Dallas.

The 25-year-old had her contract temporarily suspended to allow her to finish her season with Basket Landes in the French basketball league. This season, Geiselsöder led the team to the Ligue Femininie de Basketball championship by averaging 11.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists.

Bueckers, meanwhile, put up 10 points, seven rebounds and went 3-for-10 from the field in her Wings debut against the Lynx.

Dallas hopes to have Geiselsöder play alongside Bueckers in their second game of the season against the Lynx again on Wednesday in Minnesota.
