Los Angeles Sparks star Cameron Brink just came back to court action this season and while her team’s recent match with the Indiana Fever ended with a home loss, it did not come without any fun outtakes that got posted on social media.
During the Sparks’ most recent game against the Fever, Cameron Brink got in a ball tangle with Fever forward Aerial Powers, and the two ended up on the floor fighting over the ball. Both players played it professionally during the moment, and Powers shared it on social media, tagging Brink.
“@cameronbrink22 why was you tryna cuddle me
! Happy to see you healthy sis!
In a nail-biter at Crypto.com Arena on Friday, the injury-plagued Indiana Fever edged the Los Angeles Sparks 76-75 to keep their playoff hopes alive, buoyed by All-Star Aliyah Boston’s 22 points, 11 rebounds and four assists. Brink played in limited minutes and contributed only 4 points overall.
Cameron Brink made her long-awaited return to the Los Angeles Sparks late last month, ending a 406-day absence after suffering a torn ACL as a rookie in 2024. Stepping back onto the court against Dallas, the Stanford product immediately looked comfortable, saying it “didn’t really feel like I was out for 406 days.” Her comeback arrives at a critical juncture for the Sparks, who currently sit ninth in the WNBA standings at 17–19 and are fighting for the league’s final playoff berth for the first time since 2020.
“It was really important for me to have stuff outside of basketball, especially coming back from an injury,” she told CBS Sports. “We are not just basketball players, we are not just athletes… It was really good for me to kind of see myself as a complete person rather than someone who is just coming back from injury.”
Before her injury, Brink was averaging 2.3 blocks per game, an output that would have ranked second in the league, and she has already shown flashes of that defensive prowess, nearly posting a double-double (11 points, 8 rebounds) in her second game back.
“It felt like how I’ve always been doing it. When I step out on the court, it doesn’t really feel much different,” she said. “It felt great. I learned so much watching, but I’m ready to be in the action.”
So far this season, Cameron Brink has averaged 5.6 points per game, 4.3 rebounds, and 0.5 assists. She plays an average of only 13.4 minutes per game, as she slowly eases into more minutes.
