The WNBA is facing heat on social media, for allegedly "disrespecting" Indiana Fever star point guard Caitlin Clark with a pregame graphic.
The WNBA held a big national TV doubleheader on Sunday. The Atlanta Dream took on the Las Vegas Aces in the first game of the afternoon, followed by the Indiana Fever against the Seattle Storm on Sunday night.
For the first game of the double header, the WNBA used A'ja Wilson and Angel Reese to promote the contest. But for the second game, the WNBA used Indiana Fever rookie guard Raven Johnson.
Clark fans took that as a sign of disrespect.

WNBA fans spoke out.
"Triple 1s ??? This is what y’all chose to advertise instead of the white girl??? I’ll never understand why y’all hate Caitlin Clark so bad when she has exactly what your league needed to make it relevant…." one fan wrote.
"Oh, I guess Clark isn’t playing, no need to watch," one fan added.
"I've never seen a super star, face of a league, so disrespected by the league like the W is to Clark. The future will write books about this sad behavior," one added.
"This is just moronic. This would be like the Celtics playing the Lakers back in the 80’s while promoting it on CBS with video of Quinn Buckner and Kurt Rambis. The NBA didn’t mess it up. You guys are idiots," one fan added.
Portnoy was among those to blast the WNBA, officially calling out the league on social media.
"There is no conclusion that can be made by today’s marketing decision from the @wnba other than they despise Caitlin Clark," he wrote.
The WNBA - and other sports leagues - will often use different players to promote different games, trying to mix things up on occasion.
But it's always an odd choice to not use Clark, who is by far the most marketable player in the league in 2026.
