For the third time this season, Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark suffered an injury this past week.

In the team's 85-77 win over the Connecticut Sun, Clark tweaked her right groin with around 30 seconds remaining in the game. The 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year was sidelined for the team's 98-77 loss the following day against the New York Liberty, and coach Stephanie White made it clear that it was up to Clark and her camp to decide if she'd partake in this weekend's WNBA All-Star festivities.

While it was presumably a tough decision, Clark, who was voted as a captain, announced on Thursday she'd forgo both the 3-point contest and Saturday's WNBA All-Star Game.

As a result of her decision, the league was able to select a replacement for her, announcing that Washington Mystics guard Brittney Sykes would be getting the nod.

"Brittney Sykes will join Team Clark as a replacement for Caitlin Clark in the 2025 @att WNBA All-Star Game on Saturday July 19 ," wrote the WNBA.

For Clark, she has now missed 11 games this season due to a left quad injury, left groin injury and this week's right groin injury. She has also been struggling to find her rhythm, averaging 16.5 points per game on 36.7% shooting from the field and 27.9% from deep.

As for Sykes, she was viewed as one of the biggest snubs when the rosters were revealed earlier this month. She leads the Mystics in both scoring (17.1 PPG) and assists (4.4 APG), yet was bypassed for both of her rookie teammates, Kiki Iriafen and Sonia Citron.

Regarding when Clark returns, that is currently unknown. The Fever's next game is Tuesday against the New York Liberty.
