The WNBA offseason has been eventful for many Indiana Fever players following their memorable run to the WNBA semifinals in 2025. After recovering from a season-ending groin injury, superstar Caitlin Clark made her return to the court with USA Basketball in December.
Several Fever players headed overseas to stay sharp in the offseason, while All-WNBA players Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell are currently starring in the Unrivaled 3-on-3 league in Miami.
On Wednesday, the WNBA announced a broadcast partnership with another offseason league, AU Pro Basketball, that will feature several Fever players when it tips off its fifth season Feb. 4 in Nashville.
Five players who were on the Fever roster during the 2025 WNBA season are part of the AU Pro Basketball roster for 2026: Bree Hall, Shey Peddy, Aerial Powers, Brianna Turner and 2025 AU Pro Basketball runner-up Oddysey Sims.
Veteran guard Sydney Colson, whose first season with the Fever ended due to a torn ACL, is part of the AU Pro Basketball player executive committee, but she cannot play this season while she continues her recovery.
Instead, the WNBA announced that Colson will join the broadcast team, giving her the chance to call games involving her Indiana teammates. All 24 games of the AU Pro Basketball season will be available via ESPN and the WNBA app.
"Headlining the evolution is the addition of two-time WNBA Champion Sydney Colson, who – as she recovers from her recent injury and works towards her on-court return – joins the AU Pro Basketball broadcast team in a newly-created, dynamic on-air role that blends high-level analysis, personality and real-time connection," the WNBA said in a news release Wednesday.
Colson, who is known off the court for her "Unsupervised" podcast and burgeoning stand-up comedy career , will team up with comedian Kevin Barnett to add a new dimension of entertainment to the basketball broadcasts. They will join returning commentators Cindy Brunson and WNBA legend Sheryl Swoopes, who have called every season of AU Pro Basketball since 2022.

“I’m really glad that we were able to figure out a way to keep me involved even though I’m physically unable to play,” Colson said. “AU has been such a special place to me as a player and now I’m excited to join Sheryl, Cindy, and Kevin on our broadcast team and hopefully make season five the best one yet. I’m not one for dramatics, but this will be the broadcast of a lifetime so just watch us.”
AU Pro Basketball is a 5-on-5 league including 40 athletes split into four teams, but the teams get re-drafted each week by a new set of captains based on performance. Because the teams change, individual player scores are tracked instead of team records, with the highest-scoring player crowned champion at the end of the season.
