The WNBA has had a very active offseason, with trades and free agent signings galore over the last couple of months.

Last week, the Los Angeles Sparks and Seattle Storm collaborated on a deal, with LA sending guard Lexie Brown to the Pacific Northwest, along with a 2025 third-round draft pick, in exchange for Seattle's second-round picks in 2025 and 2027.

“We want to thank Lexie for all she’s done for the Sparks and the Los Angeles community,” Sparks general manager Raegan Pebley said when the trade was announced. “She has invested a tremendous amount of her heart and soul. We wish Lexie success as she continues her career in Seattle.”

The WNBA officially confirmed the deal on Monday afternoon..

"Los Angeles trades the contract of Lexie Brown and Los Angeles’ own 2025 3rd round draft pick (No. 26) to Seattle in exchange for Seattle’s own 2025 2nd round draft pick (No. 21) and Seattle’s own 2027 2nd round draft pick," the league said on X/Twitter.

Brown, 30, was originally a first-round pick of the Connecticut Sun out of Duke in 2018. She spent her rookie year in Connecticut before playing two seasons for the Minnesota Lynx.

Brown moved on to the Chicago Sky in 2021, helping the team win the WNBA championship. She appeared in seven playoff games that year, averaging 1.1 points per contest.

Chicago traded Brown to Los Angeles prior to the 2022 season. Brown appeared in 34 games with 16 starts in 2022, and averaged a career-high 12.4 points per game in 12 games in 2023, only to have her season sabotaged by Crohn's Disease.

Thankfully, Brown was able to return to the court for the Sparks in 2024, playing in 16 games with eight starts and producing 8.1 points per appearance. Los Angeles finished 8-32 overall and missed the postseason.
