WNBA Attendance: Week in review

Overall, 19 games were played for the week ending on September 1. The largest attendance for the week belongs to the Atlanta Dream on August 26 (17,608) for their game at State Farm Arena. The Washington Mystics had the smallest attendance for the week for their game on August 31 (4,200).

At this point in the season, the Indiana Fever has seen the largest increase from last season (+317%). Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Sparks are second (+72.7%), followed by the Atlanta Dream (69.9%) and then the New York Liberty (+61.8%). Overall, league attendance is up by 47 percent from 2023, and this season is currently third in league history (9,725). They averaged more fans in the 1998 and 1999 seasons (10,869 and 10,205).

The Week Ahead

The current week began on Tuesday, September 3 with four games on the schedule. Overall, there will be 17 games played for this week. The featured game will be the Las Vegas Aces hosting the New York Liberty in a 2023 Finals matchup at 4:00 pm on ESPN. There are just 3 weeks left in the regular season as the last games will be played on Thursday, September 19. The 2024 WNBA Playoffs will kick off on Sunday, September 22 with all four first-round games being played that day.
