The Chicago Sky carried a 4-11 record into Sunday's matchup against the Los Angeles Sparks. This marks the third and final time that these two teams will square off during the 2025 WNBA season.
2024 All-Star forward Angel Reese dominated against the Sparks in Tuesday's 97 to 86 victory. She recorded 18 points, 17 rebounds, six assists and four steals, and fellow second-year post player Kamilla Cardoso chipped in a career-high 27 points.
Reese followed up this performance with a 17-point, 18-rebound, two-assist game against the 8-7 Golden State Valkyries on Friday. Chicago still lost, however, by a score of 83 to 78.
Chicago continued their West Coast road trip with a rematch against the Sparks at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday.
Early in the first quarter, Reese blew by three-time All-Star forward Dearica Hamby for a reverse layup. The WNBA reacted to this move and basket with a quick message.
"Tough reverse lay for Angel Reese!" the WNBA wrote. "She's locked in EARLY ✨."

Reese contributed six points, four rebounds, two assists and one block during the first quarter of Sunday's game (via Karli Bell). She is averaging 11.7 points and a league-leading 12.3 rebounds per game this season.
She averaged 13.6 points and a WNBA-record 13.1 rebounds per game during her rookie campaign. Her production earned her All-Star and All-Rookie honors in 2024.
Chicago currently sits in 12th place in the WNBA standings after the Dallas Wings' win on Saturday against the Washington Mystics. With a win against the Sparks, the Sky will move into 10th place, just 2.5 games out of the playoff picture.
