Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark faced off just once during the 2025 WNBA season. The Chicago Sky and the Indiana Fever played five games against each other, but Clark was available for just one of those contests. The former Rookie of the Year was limited to 13 games in 2025 due to multiple injuries. The Fever shut her down for the second half of the campaign due to a lingering right groin injury.
Reese, on the other hand, had another big year for the Sky. She led the league in rebounds for a second straight year (12.6), along with 14.7 points on 45.8% shooting, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals in 31.6 minutes per game.
The WNBA made an important announcement on Wednesday. At the moment, the league is still negotiating a new Collective Bargaining Agreement with the players’ union. There has been a lot of back-and-forth between both sides as they fall apart over key issues in the new CBA, including players’ salaries and profit sharing.
However, despite extended talks between the WNBA and the union, the league still announced the 2026 season schedule. This is on the assumption that both parties will soon reach an agreement and that there will be no lockout.
The schedule announcement included the three matchups between the Sky and the Fever. Reese and Clark have the most attention-grabbing rivalry in the WNBA today, and fans now know the exact dates they will meet this coming season.
Chicago and Indiana will take the court on the following dates:
The Sky and the Fever can potentially play each other more than three times in the 2026 season, depending on how the Commissioner’s Cup tournament and the WNBA playoffs shape up.
At this point, there’s less than five months left before Reese and Clark face off on the court again.
