Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky looked well on their way to securing their second straight win on Tuesday night. The Sky found themselves up by as many as 16 points at home against the Washington Mystics, and at one point, it seemed like victory was within their grasp.

The Sky, however, suffered another collapse in the second half. They entered halftime up 44-32, but they fell short yet again after the break. Washington outscored Chicago, 24-12, in the third quarter, followed by a 23-16 fourth quarter in favor of the Mystics.

In the end, the Sky fell 79-72 as they suffered their eighth loss in 11 games played this season.

Washington's big win was thanks in large part to an incredible performance from veteran guard Brittney Sykes, who dropped a game-high 32 points on 13-of-24 shooting, to go along with two rebounds, five assists, three steals and four three-pointers in 36 minutes of action.

After the game, the WNBA took to social media to announce Sykes as the game's Top Performer.

"Brittney Sykes put on an absolute show in Chicago! Sykes delivered a season-high 32 PTS, 5 AST, 4 threes, to power the Mystics' incredible 16-point comeback to defeat the Sky 79-72," the league posted on X.

Thanks to Sykes' strong play, the Mystics were able to improve to 5-7. They are currently just half a game behind the Golden State Valkyries and the Las Vegas Aces for the No. 8 spot in the WNBA.

The Sky, on the other hand, have suffered another blow. Reese put up another strong double-double in this one with 17 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, but it just wasn't enough to lift Chicago to victory.
