Angel Reese powered the Atlanta Dream to their second consecutive win on Tuesday. They defeated the Dallas Wings 77-72 on the road, putting the WNBA on notice.
The two-time All-Star delivered another strong performance. She posted 12 points and 16 rebounds, along with timely baskets to help secure the victory. Allisha Gray also performed well by recording a game-high 26 points and four rebounds. The 6-foot guard has shown that her game benefits from Reese’s presence.
Atlanta has started the new WNBA season 2-0 and will head home for a three-game homestand. The Dream aim to reach the playoffs again and advance past the first round. They earned the No. 3 seed last year, but the Indiana Fever eliminated them.
Reese remained front-and-center throughout the game. She engaged with the Dallas crowd after big plays, prompting fans to boo her. The 24-year-old remained unfazed and appeared motivated by it.
She posted a photo of her pregame outfit on Instagram on Wednesday. Reese shouted out to Gucci, along with a subtle jab at those who booed her.
“Game 2: Life so Gucci the boo’s started getting louder. @gucci,” Reese wrote.
The WNBA kept it simple with its comment, using just emojis.
“,” the WNBA commented.
Reese has shown throughout her career that she is not afraid to embrace the label of a villain. She lets her game speak for her and continues to play at her best. The LSU product has led the WNBA in rebounds per game over the last two seasons and shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.
The Dream have enjoyed favorable results to start the campaign. However, it will get tougher as the season progresses, beginning with a game against the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday. Reese will match up against four-time MVP A’ja Wilson, but she is expected to embrace the challenge and push her team to victory.
