WNBA Reacts to Kelsey Mitchell News on Saturday

Indiana Fever star Kelsey Mitchell has been a star for the team for the past several seasons, even with the addition of Caitlin Clark. 

Mitchell has been with the Fever for the past eight seasons. She's been considered one of the best guards in the WNBA over the past several seasons, having been named a two-time WNBA All-Star. 

The Fever star, who is clearly in the prime of her career, was recently recognized by the WNBA after the Indiana Fever announced that she has officially reached 4,000 career points. 

"Well-deserved recognition," posted the official social media account of the WNBA. "Kelsey Mitchell honored for hitting 4,000 career points vs. Atlanta last game! WNBA Commissioner's Cup presented by @coinbase." 

The Fever mentioned that Mitchell achieved the feat in their most recent matchup against the Atlanta Dream, where Indiana lost 77-58. 

Mitchell finished that game with 11 points, one rebound and one assist. 

On Saturday, the Indiana Fever defeated the New York Liberty 102-88, snapping the Liberty's nine-game win streak to start the season. 

Kelsey Mitchell finished the game with 22 points, two rebounds and one assist..

Mitchell's backcourt partner, Caitlin Clark, also had a big game for the Fever, posting 32 points, eight rebounds and nine assists against the Liberty. 

Kelsey Mitchell and the Indiana Fever are now sitting at 5-5 on the season. They have won three of their last four games, defeating the New York Liberty, Chicago Sky and Washington Mystics. 

The Fever will now prepare for a matchup against the Connecticut Sun, set to play on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET.
