The Dallas Wings are heading into a new WNBA season with high hopes after acquiring Paige Bueckers with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.

Bueckers is making the move to Dallas after playing four seasons with the UConn Huskies.

As the season inches closer, the Wings made a significant move to their roster. On Sunday, Dallas waived Mai Yamamoto and Madison Scott, per Joey Mistretta

Scott will look for another opportunity at the professional level after being drafted in the second round with the No. 14 overall pick in the WNBA draft.

The Wings decided to move on from the rookie amid training camp.

Scott previously played five seasons with the Ole Miss Rebels at the collegiate level.

During her last season at Ole Miss, Scott averaged 11.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. The WNBA prospect shot 46.6 percent from the field and 23.5 percent from 3-point range during her last season in the SEC.

In her five-year career with the Ole Miss Rebels, Scott posted 11.1 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.

Yamamoto was a veteran of Japan's national team invited to training camp after competing as a member of the Toyota Antelopes.

She was widely regarded as one of the best players in the SEC, but it seems the marriage with the Dallas Wings didn't work well for either party.

While the Dallas Wings had to part ways with Madison Scott, Bueckers headlines a solid rookie class that is set to make an immediate impact on the organization.

In her four-year career with the UConn Huskies, leading the Big East program to a national title as a senior, Bueckers posted 19.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game.
