Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings have momentum on their side after their 81-80 win over a Caitlin Clark-less Indiana Fever side on Tuesday. Bueckers turned in an impressive performance in that one, finishing with 16 points, five rebounds, eight assists and two steals, as she led the Wings to their first win in five games.
The highly touted rookie followed up Tuesday’s big victory with an exciting announcement on Thursday. This came in the form of her recent partnership with Verizon for a youth basketball experience in Dallas.
“Hey everyone,” she said. “I’m so excited to team up with Verizon for a fun event for young athletes here in Dallas. Come hang out with me, shoot some hoops, hit up the photo booth and more.”

The 23-year-old also stated that interested parties can visit the participating stores to enter for a chance to win a spot by Aug. 17. That’s just a few days away, which means fans must act quickly to secure an opportunity to potentially meet Bueckers in person.
It’s incredible to see the former UConn star doing what she can for the basketball scene in Dallas, especially for the young kids. On the basketball court, though, Bueckers has been an absolute force in her rookie year.
In 26 games played thus far, the 6-foot guard is averaging 18.4 points on 45.2% shooting, 4.0 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.2 triples per game, making her the frontrunner for the Rookie of the Year title.
The Wings, who are currently sitting on a 9-24 record, have struggled mightily this season. There’s no denying, however, that Bueckers has shone brightly despite the circumstances. The future is definitely bright for Dallas with Bueckers at the helm.
