The start of the WNBA season has quickly proven the top title contenders from those who are still multiple pieces away from competing at a high level.
One of the most anticipated and exciting teams heading into the season was the Indiana Fever. Indiana entered the season with a bulked-up roster and a first-year head coach in Stephanie White.
Fans were also waiting to see the leap Fever guard Caitlin Clark could make after her rookie season with the team.
A few other teams who also received a ton of attention were the defending champion New York Liberty as well as the Minnesota Lynx with MVP candidate Napheesa Collier.
Those teams may have the spotlight shined bright on them, but on Sunday, all eyes were on the Golden State Valkyries.
The WNBA's expansion team made a decision to release first-year center Kyara Linskens.
"Roster Update: The Golden State Valkyries have waived center Kyara Linskens," posted the official social media account of the Golden State Valkyries. "Thank you, Kiki."

Kyara Linskens played in four games for the Golden State Valkyries before the team decided to part ways with the center.
During her time with the Valkyries, Linskens posted 1.0 point, 1.5 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game.
Throughout her time with the Valkyries, Linskens scored just four points.
Before her time with the Golden State Valkyries, Kyara Linskens played for various professional organizations in Europe, including Nadezhda Orenburg, Enisey and Lattes-Montpellier.
Linskens was also a member of the Belgium national title, helping her respective country earn two bronze medals and one gold medals in EuroBasket.
