The 2025 WNBA season is nearing its midway point, and the All-Star Game is set for Saturday afternoon. With that in mind, teams are making final pushes to head into the break with momentum.
As for the Golden State Valkyries, they've lost three of their last four games and sit at 10-10 in their inaugural season. This stretch comes just after Golden State found its groove, winning seven of nine.
On Sunday morning, the Valkyries announced they "have waived forward Stephanie Talbot." Talbot didn’t see any minutes in the Valkyries’ last two games against the Indiana Fever and the Las Vegas Aces.

The 31-year-old’s most recent action came on Monday, when Golden State lost to the Atlanta Dream 90-81. She played just six minutes, recording two points on one shot attempt.
In 2025, she appeared in 16 games, starting 10 of them, and averaged 16.8 minutes with 3.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2 assists per game.
Talbot is in her seventh WNBA season, having started her career with the Phoenix Mercury. She was selected in the third round of the 2014 WNBA Draft but chose to remain in Australia, playing for the NBL’s Canberra Capitals until Phoenix reacquired her in 2017.
She went on to play two seasons for Mercury before joining the Minnesota Lynx for a season, the Seattle Storm for two and the Los Angeles Sparks for one before being selected by the Valkyries in the expansion draft last December.
