WNBA's All-Star Game Announcement Catches Attention

The WNBA recently finalized the rosters for the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game after honorary general managers Teresa Weatherspoon and Cynthia Cooper made their picks. The top two vote-getters, Paige Bueckers and Caitlin Clark, were split into separate teams and will lead their respective squads.

Bueckers joins Team Coop and will now team up with fellow starters Kelsey Mitchell, Breanna Stewart, Natasha Howard and Gabby Williams. Clark, for her part, leads Team Spoon and will start alongside Olivia Miles, A'ja Wilson, Aliyah Boston and Jessica Shepard.

Aside from the rosters, however, the WNBA made another announcement as the anticipation for the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game continues to build.

On Thursday, the league revealed that South African singer-songwriter Tyla will be performing at halftime of the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game.

"One more star is headed to Chicago," the WNBA wrote. "Tyla will take the stage as the halftime performer for the 2026 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game!"

Tyla has been one of the most popular pop and R&B artists in the music industry, even earning the nickname "Queen of Popiano" for her fusion of pop and amapiano music in her work. She has won two Grammy Awards for Best African Music Performance.

Naturally, several fans were hyped after the WNBA revealed Tyla's halftime performance, with WNBA champion Natasha Cloud even commenting a shocked emoji to express her excitement.

Golden State Valkyries guard Kaila Charles added, "Omg yes yes yes. I want to meet herrrr."

"OHHH THISS IS HUGEEE," a commenter wrote. Another one said, "AHHHHHH IM SO EXCITED YES."

"Omggggg yesssssssss!" a poster added.

A social media user exclaimed, "The South African W fans are in for a treat!!"

The 2026 WNBA All-Star Game will be held at the United Center in Chicago on July 25.
