WNBA veteran Sophie Cunningham saw her 2025 season with the Indiana Fever end prematurely after injuring her right knee during a game against the Connecticut Sun last August. She tore her right MCL, which required surgery.

Cunningham, who averaged 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.0 steal in 30 games, also missed the Fever's run in the postseason. Now, she is recovering and undergoing rehab as she looks to make it back in time for the 2026 season that starts in May.

In the latest episode of her "Show Me Something" podcast, Cunningham talked about her recovery and how she's feeling good. She also revealed that she started a new diet in a bid to take care of her body better.

Unfortunately for Cunningham, she encountered a problem in her new diet due to what she called "stomach issues." After getting a food sensitivity test, she discovered the foods that her body can't really tolerate that much.

"Trainers called and they're like your sensitivity test came back because like I've been having stomach issues, right? And I am allergic — or not allergic, highly sensitive — to dairy, especially yogurt. Like you're supposed to be at like a 3.9 with sensitivity, I was like at 30 something," Cunningham explained on Friday.

"I eat cheese for fun. This is going to be a huge problem."

She also said that she's highly sensitive to rice, beef, pork and pineapple," which she said is her favorite fruit.

Cunningham added, "All vegetables were clear. I think there's a couple more fruits. Seaweed. I don't really just go eat seaweed, so I'm clear on that one. But just like a lot of random things. And so I've been getting rice bowls, I've been trying to eat healthy, but your girl's screwed."

It remains to be seen what kind of adjustments Cunningham will make as she navigates through her new food restrictions while also recovering from her injury.

Cunningham did say, however, that she might really get fit due to her situation.

The 29-year-old guard is a free agent this offseason. While she has expressed her desire to return to the Fever, it's unknown what Indiana will do, considering that they have 13 free agents from the 16 players they had during the past season.
