TNA legend Abyss has been included as a downloadable character in WWE 2K25. The former NWA World Heavyweight Champion is a member of the “Dunk and Destruction” pack, released on June 25.
The pack contains five playable characters. Included in the pack is former World Heavyweight Champion The Great Khali, as well as three NBA superstars. They are Basketball Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal, Indiana Pacer Tyrese Haliburton and New York Knick Jalen Brunson.
Abyss, real name Christopher Park, never wrestled for the WWE throughout his 25 year in ring career.
Despite this, he signed to the company as backstage producer in 2019. He has on occasion appeared on WWE television. The most notable was a stint as AJ Styles’ statistician in August 2020.
Park debuted on the inaugural weekly TNA pay-per-view on June 19 2002. He participated in the Gauntlet for the Gold match under the ring name Justice. That match was for the vacant NWA World Heavyweight Championship, won by former Intercontinental Champion Ken Shamrock.
In 2003 he reappeared as “The Monster” Abyss. Over the next 15 years he would have several legendary feuds with the likes of AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, Christian Cage, amongst others.
The TNA original’s loyalty to the company has been cited as the main reason why he stayed. WWE attempted to sign Abyss on numerous occasions whilst he was in his prime.
Abyss was close to signing with the WWE upon the expiration of his TNA contract in late 2006. He told Jim Ross on an old episode of the Ross Report that he had a conversation with former Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis.
The masked giant was to debut at the 2007 Royal Rumble and eliminate The Undertaker. This proposition intended to culminate in a match at WrestleMania 23 at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.
Abyss’ rejection had a domino effect. The Undertaker won the Royal Rumble and would challenge Batista for the World Heavyweight Championship. Abyss extended with TNA and entered 2007 as the NWA World Heavyweight Champion.
His loyalty to TNA was rewarded in 2018, where he was formally inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame.
In more recent years, there has been talk about Abyss potentially competing in the Stamford based promotion.
Cody Rhodes’ revealed on his “What do you wanna talk about?” podcast with Kevin Owens, that he pushed for Abyss to be a participant in the Royal Rumble match.
Owens’ stated that “I think it’s too late. He’s lost too much weight. Putting him in the ring at this point when he walks that way would be illegal. But we love Chris.”
The 51 year old enthusiastically reacted to his inclusion in the videogame, saying that he “never looked better” and “the attention to detail is amazing.”
Such a heartfelt reaction!

Whilst this is the first WWE videogame for Abyss it is not his videogame debut. He was on the roster for Midway Games TNA IMPACT! in 2008.
The inclusion of Abyss allows players to use “Janice”, a 2×4 nail board, as a weapon in the game.
Equipped with his TNA entrance theme, fans can authentically use the 2012 version of Abyss to Blackhole Slam over 200 other wrestlers on WWE 2K25’s loaded roster.
