Adam Copeland Stars in 'The Beekeeper 2' Sequel

AEW star and WWE Hall of Famer Adam Copeland is taking a break from the ring and going back to Hollywood. Copeland is set to star in the sequel to “The Beekeeper,” according to Variety.

Adam Copeland Joins ‘The Beekeeper 2’

Per Variety, Copeland, along with Marvel actor Pom Klementieff, has been announced for “The Beekeeper 2.” It’s the sequel to the 2024 box office hit that was led by Jason Statham. Statham starred as a former government assassin who comes out of retirement to get revenge on scammers who preyed on his elderly neighbor.

The plot of the sequel and who Copeland is playing is under wraps. But what is known is that Jeremy Irons, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bobby Naderi, and Jemma Redgrave will all be reprising their roles. The director is Timo Tjahjanto, taking over from David Ayer. Production for “Beekeeper 2” has started. It’s produced and financed by Miramax and will be distributed worldwide by Amazon MGM Studio.

Fans also reacted to Copeland’s new film. One fan wrote:

“That’s cool to see him expanding into acting more regularly.”

Another one wrote:

“Happy for Adam. Keep killing it.”

While one fan brought up how AEW is the place for wrestlers to get cast in movies. As noted, MJF was recently announced for the sequel to Violent Night. On the other hand, WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre was just announced for a role in the “Highlander” reboot. The fan tweeted:

“AEW is where you go if you want to be cast in movies. That's a fact no one can argue with.”

One fan brought up how John Cena should get a role in the film, so they could finally see them fight again. Since Cena’s WWE retirement run started, fans have been hoping for Copeland to return to WWE to face him. The fan said:

“I need Cena to get a role in this so we can get the fight we all deserve.”

The two-time AEW TNT Champion’s most recent role has been as Ares in the Disney+ series, “Percy Jackson & the Olympians,” which earned him a Children’s & Family Emmy Award nomination for Best Supporting Performer in a Preschool, Children's or Young Teen Program. Other TV shows that he’s starred in were “Haven,” “Vikings,” “Sanctuary,” and “The Flash.”

In 2000, he had a brief role in “The Highlander: Endgame.” His other roles include the 2016 film “Interrogation” and the 2020 action thriller “Money Plane.”

Copeland was last in the ring for the AEW pay-per-view, All Out, on September 20. There, he and Christian Cage defeated FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) in a brutal match.
